PRESS RELEASE
SWEDEN, MARCH 18, #thesoundoftomorrow.
In search of the artists of tomorrow, Pepsi MAX invites undiscovered DJs and music producers to the competition “The Sound of Tomorrow”. For two years, Pepsi has collaborated with the festival Tomorrowland, and to celebrate the successful collaboration, this year they choose to jointly create a competition where they give a unique opportunity to the talents of tomorrow.
"After last year's success, we are excited to develop our partnership with Tomorrowland. Music has always been in our DNA, and we're proud to continue our legacy by creating a brand new platform for tomorrow's artists. As one of the world's biggest festivals, Tomorrowland is the perfect partner to help us continue to build a strong relationship with music lovers around the world. But this time in a completely new way", says Mark Kirkham, Head of Marketing and Innovation, PepsiCo West Europe Beverages.
To help them, they have chosen to collaborate with the world-famous Dutch DJ, Fedde Le Grand, known for the song Put your hands up for Detroit, among other things. Le Grand will hold an exclusive training for ten selected finalists and help them refine their songs.
"During my years in the music industry, I have seen many changes in the EDM industry. I'm sure none of us could have predicted how incredibly popular the genre would become or how many possibilities would open up. When I started Darklight Recordings, I wanted to not only create a platform for my own songs, but also open up to help tomorrow's artists create and get their music out there. Together with Tomorrowland and Pepsi MAX, being able to contribute to the effort to find the stars of tomorrow feels great and I look forward to hearing what the participants will send in", says Fedde Le Grand, DJ and music producer.
Loved worldwide for his electronic music, Fedde Le Grand will also create an exclusive soundtrack for the campaign to inspire potential participants. The winner of the competition will then release their own remix of the song via Le Grand's own record label, Darklight Recordings.
The competition consists of four parts:
1. The application is open until April 20 via thesoundoftomorrow.com
2. 10 selected finalists receive two full days of training in Ibiza together with Fedde Le Grand. A jury will select three finalists and then hand over the final choice to the public.
3. During the final vote, anyone can go in and vote for their favorite, and thus also compete for tickets to the festival.
4. The competition ends on location in Belgium during the festival, when all three finalists get to perform their contribution on stage. The winner's personal remix of Fedde Le Grand's latest 'The Sound of Tomorrow' track will be officially released by his label, Darklight Recordings.
