For the first time in Sweden, the iconic text "Coca-Cola" is now being replaced on the bottles. Instead, the 150 most common names will appear on the labels, giving you the opportunity to share a personalized Coke with your friends or family. At the same time, it is a tribute to all consumers who drink Coca-Cola.
- It is when we are together with loved ones that we are happiest and we want to make sure of that with this campaign. While we encourage our consumers to share a personalized Coke with their friends, we want to celebrate them. We want to say thank you in a simple and engaging way, says Eric Nilsson, brand manager at Coca-Cola Sweden.
Between May and August, 115 million bottles and cans filled with Coca-Cola will get a new label in Sweden. In total, over a billion bottles and cans in Europe are getting new labels. This applies to Coca-Cola, Coca-Cola light and Coca-Cola zero. The new labels will say, for example, "Share a Coke with Emma" or "Share a Coke with the family". The "Share a Coke" campaign wants to encourage consumers to share a personal Coca-Cola with their family or friends.
- It is the first time ever that we are replacing the iconic text with Coca-Cola on the bottle, and what better then to replace it with the names of those who love us the most - our consumers, says Eric Nilsson.
The campaign is running in eleven European countries at the same time. On the Swedish site, delaencoke.se, visitors will be able to create their own virtual Coca-Cola to share on Facebook, starting in mid-May. Visitors will also be able to write down their summer plans, which will then be animated. On the site, eleven winners a day will be presented in the Instagram contest "Share a Coke – Share a Photo", where consumers are invited to share their best summer photo under the hashtag #delaencoke. In several places in the country during the summer, there will be events where those who want can produce their own cans filled with Coca-Cola with any name they want.
