PRESS RELEASE
In recent years, Pepsi has been a given element during the football World Cup. This summer's WC in South Africa will be no exception. Those who already want a taste of this summer's big sporting event can satisfy their desire with Pepsi Max Wild Side, flavored with the typically African fruit baobab as a tribute to the host nation.
Pepsi is one of the world's most well-known logos and has always stood for simplicity and timelessness. The design has evolved over more than 100 years and if you follow the development of the brand, you can see that the design has changed a lot, while at the same time it has managed to retain its origins.
The graphic form that has now been adopted has been developed over a long period of time and with great resources. Shapes, lines and angles relate to the curves of the magnetic field and the lines and tilt of the globe. The logo also contains elements from some of the most influential artists in world history, including traces from Leonardo Da Vinci, Euclides and Le Corbusier. The new design is stylish, simple and at the same time retro-inspired.
Important years in Pepsi's development
Pepsi was first developed and produced in North Carolina in the early 1890s by pharmacist Caleb Bradham. The brand and the drink were patented in 1903 and since then the drink has not changed, while the design has undergone some changes. From the beginning, the drink was called Pepsi-Cola and the first logo gave the impression of being handwritten and each letter was richly embellished with details. As the public began to consume Bradham's drink, he decided to simplify the logo.
In the 1950s, the design was radically changed to be able to fit the cap to the glass bottle. In 1998, when Pepsi celebrated 100 years, the design was redesigned once more to celebrate the brand's innovation and global recognition.
Now is the time to launch Pepsi's new clothes in Sweden, and this means that Pepsi and Pepsi Max will get a new look. As before, the drink will be available in both bottles and cans, and the products are expected to be in stores at the beginning of March.
