PRESS RELEASE
For the second year in a row, Coca-Cola has been named Star Brand of the Year by the research institute YouGov and the trend analysts Indikat. An annual award given to the brand that has grown the most in the eyes of Swedish consumers during the last calendar year.
The award is based on how consumers' attitudes towards brands have changed during the year, which is assessed on a daily basis in the brand measurement Brand Index. In the compilation, Coca-Cola was the brand that showed the biggest increase. The index number increased from 9.4 to 11.0 and the attitude towards the brand has improved on all parameters. Among other things, the number of people who had a negative attitude towards value for money decreased and that number landed at under 400,000 compared to the 2021 figures, when over a million Swedes had a negative attitude towards this. Last year instead one and a half million had a positive attitude towards value for money and 200,000 more are prepared to recommend the drink.
- We are very proud to receive this award for the second time. We are constantly working to make the daily meeting as good as possible to give everyday life a little extra magic, regardless of whether it is through social media or events. On the one hand, it is about delivering fantastic flavors, and on the other hand, meeting other consumer needs that affect the experience, such as sustainability. Our factory in Sweden was the first in the world to manufacture all PET bottles from 100% recycled plastic, something we are extremely proud of, says Christoph Friedrich, CEO of The Coca-Cola Company in Sweden.
